What Paintredo is

Paintredo is a learning tool: you upload an image of a painting, artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude model) breaks it into phases and answers questions as you work. These are prompts for practising on your own — not a professional art education, and not a guarantee of a result.

The mentor can be wrong

The breakdown and the answers are generated by a model. It tries, but it can read the technique wrong, name the wrong brush number or the wrong mixing ratio. Sanity-check the advice — especially materials lists, before you buy anything. We are not liable for a ruined sheet of paper, but we do want to hear about it: an email about a bad breakdown is what makes the service better.

Your images

• Upload only what you are allowed to use: your own work, your own photographs, freely licensed images, or paintings you have the right to copy for study.
• Do not upload other people's personal photographs without their consent, or any unlawful imagery.
• The images stay yours. By uploading them you allow us to process them exactly as far as running the service requires: to store them, to show them at the breakdown's link, and to send them to Claude for analysis.
• We can remove content that breaks these rules and limit access for anyone who abuses them.

The link to a breakdown is a secret

There are no accounts yet: a breakdown opens for anyone who knows its link. Sharing the link shares both the breakdown and the uploaded image. More on this in the privacy policy.

Free, with limits

Paintredo is free right now. So that the service does not fall over under load, or bankrupt us on compute, there are limits: on breakdowns per address per hour, on total breakdowns per day, and on the length of the conversation about a single breakdown. If paid features appear they will have their own terms and a clear refund policy — stated before payment, not after.

Running the service

We are still building Paintredo and may change what it does, take it down briefly for maintenance, or close it. The service is provided “as is”; to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us (so far, nothing). If you are under eighteen, use Paintredo with your parents' knowledge.
